Supply Of Alcohol: Premises & Age Verification Policy

  1. Premises

    The Village Hall does not currently hold an alcohol or entertainment licence, therefore a TEN (temporary Entertainment Notice) must be applied for at least 21 days before the event.

  2. Age Verification Policy

    2.1.
    This policy applies in relation to the sale, supply or consumption of alcohol on Village Hall premises.

    2.2.
    For this policy the Responsible Person is one of the following:

    • the holder of the temporary entertainment notice (TEN)
    • the event organiser
    • a member or officer of a club present on the premises in a capacity which enables him or her to prevent the inappropriate sale, supply or consumption of alcohol.

    2.3.
    The Responsible Person must ensure that alcoholic beverages are not consumed by people under the age of 18.

    2.4. Anyone serving alcohol, whether for sale or served free as part of an event, must challenge every potential consumer who looks under the age of 25 and ask to see identification if their age is not known to the server. If the person is unable to produce identification alcohol must not be served or consumed.

    2.5.
    Examples of appropriate identification include:

    • A photo card driving licence
    • A passport
    • A proof of age card bearing the PASS hologram
    • Military Identification Card

    2.6.
    The holder of the TEN licence or the event organiser must ensure that serving staff are made aware of this policy.
